The Reverend Dr. Jerry W. Askew - Chair

Dr. Askew is Archdeacon of the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee and currently serves at St. John’s Cathedral in Knoxville. He previously served as President and CEO of the Alliance for Better Nonprofits; Senior Vice President of St. Mary’s Health System and its successor organizations; President and CEO of the East Tennessee Foundation; and Dean of Students and Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs at the University of Tennessee. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar; M.S. from the University of Memphis; and Ph.D. from the Ohio State University. Since his arrival in Knoxville in 1985, Dr. Askew has served on the boards of over 50 non-profit organizations at the local, state, and national levels. He joined KUB’s Board in 2016 and currently serves as its Chair.

Adrienne Simpson-Brown - Vice-Chair

Adrienne Simpson-Brown is Chief of the U.S. Probation Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee. She previously served as Deputy Chief of the U.S. Probation Office, Sentencing Guideline Specialist, Supervising U.S. Probation Officer and Assistant Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer.  Adrienne received her B.A. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where she was on the Deans’ list and a member of Alpha Phi Omega.  Simpson-Brown is also a graduate of the Federal Judicial Center’s National Leadership Development Program and has also participated in the New Deputy Chiefs Program; Western District of Michigan Leadership Development Program (mentor); New Supervisors Program; National Program Review Team Member; New Officer Orientation Program Instructor; Foundations of Management; Tennessee Victim Assistance Conference; and Financial Training Instructor. She is also a member of the Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she served as Chairperson of several committees including, a committee that led a “Go Green in Red” campaign in the community. Simpson-Brown joined KUB’s Board in 2018.

Ron Feinbaum

Feinbaum is a member of the Boldsquare, Inc. team, a multi-disciplined strategy and communications practice that provides executive leadership teams with senior counsel in high pressure situations to help businesses navigate through growth, crisis, and comprehensive change. Prior to his role at Boldsquare, Feinbaum spent over 29 years at Scripps Networks Interactive in a variety of roles. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Products and Home Promotions for Scripps Networks Interactive, where he negotiated contracts; developed marketing and promotional efforts for Scripps Networks Interactive’s largest digital initiative, the HGTV Dream Home and other high profile products; and was involved with diversity and inclusion initiatives. Feinbaum holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Marketing, as well as an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee. He has served on several local and national boards, both corporate and nonprofit, including Random Acts of Flowers and the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation.

Claudia Caballero

Caballero is President and CEO of Centro Hispano de East Tennessee, a nonprofit that works to empower the Latino community through education, workforce development, youth and family engagement, and resource referral services.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Catholic University of Honduras and is currently earning an Executive Master of Business Administration at Vanderbilt University. Caballero serves on numerous boards and committees including the East Tennessee Foundation, East Tennessee Development District, Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, Greater Knoxville Advisory Board for Johnson University, and Roane State Foundation. She is a member of Conexión Américas’ Mosaic Fellowship Class of 2018; the 2019 Class of Leadership Knoxville; and Class VII of Leadership Tennessee. She is the recipient of the YWCA Emerging Leader Award, the Young Professionals of Knoxville Outstanding Young Professional Award; VIP Knoxville’s 2020 list of VIP Women; and the 2019 Knox.biz list of 40 Under 40.

Kathy Hamilton

Hamilton is a CPA (inactive) and an active member of the Leadership Knoxville Facilitation Group. She has previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for HealthCare 21 Business Coalition; Vice President of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources for the Shelton Group; Chief Financial Officer of DoubleJay Creative; Director of Finance at Connex South; and Finance Director of Knox County Government. Hamilton has a B.S. in Business from the University of Tennessee. A graduate of Leadership Knoxville class of 1993, Hamilton currently serves on the board of directors of several organizations including Leadership Knoxville, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, The YWCA Foundation, WDVX, and as Treasurer for the Executive Women’s Association. In Addition, Hamilton is a University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associate. Hamilton joined KUB’s Board in 2013.

Celeste Herbert

Herbert is an attorney with Herbert, Meadows & Wall and has 40 years of experience practicing as an attorney. Herbert is also a Rule 31 Listed Mediator. She holds a B.S. and a J.D., both from the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of the Leadership Knoxville class of 2006. She serves on the Business Court Docket Advisory Commission and as a hearing officer for the City of Knoxville Civil Service Merit Board and the Beer Board. She previously served on the boards of YWCA of Knoxville and Tennessee Valley, Leadership Knoxville, and as President and Vice President of the Executive Women’s Association. In addition, she served on the Board of the Tanasi Girl Scout Council for many years and was awarded the Thanks Badge, one of the highest honors for adults in Girl Scouts. Herbert joined KUB's Board in 2013 and has previously served as Board Chair.

Tyvi Small

Tyvi Small is Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Engagement at the University of Tennessee. He graduated from the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master’s Degree in Education. Small is very involved in his community and serves on the board of directors of the Knoxville Area Urban League, Tennessee Valley Fair, and Overcoming Believers Church. He is also a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and is a graduate of the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2012, Introduction Knoxville Class of 2008, and was honored as one of the Knoxville Business Journal 40 under 40. He is also a member of Leadership Tennessee Class VII. Small is an active member of Overcoming Believers Church. Small has been a KUB Board member since 2017.
